New Director for Government IT Profession

Lesley Hume has been appointed the new Director of the Government IT Profession and will take up her post in October.
Government IT Profession Conference 2008 – 30th and 31st October
The conference will take place in Leeds, West Yorkshire, at the Queens Hotel, which is next to Leeds railway station. The event will start with registration at 10:00 on Thursday 30 October, and finish at 14:30 on Friday 31 October.

The Government IT Profession
The Government IT Profession brings together all IT professionals working across the UK public sector: UK government departments and agencies, local government, the emergency services and specialist deliverers such as the health sector. It includes everyone from new entrants through to the members of the Chief Information Officer Council.
The Head of Profession is John Suffolk, Kate Silver leads the IT Profession Team, based in the Cabinet Office. The Government IT Profession forms the foundation upon which the government’s IT Centre of Excellence is built and is a leading contributor to the Professional Skills for Government agenda.
