The Government Gateway is one of the largest and most integrated IT Common Asset services in Central Government – Spanning some 61 public sector service organisations from HMRC to West Midlands Fire Service. It enables citizens, businesses and other organisations to interact securely with wider government through identity management, secure transaction, messaging and payment services offering a cost effective shared service to the whole of the public sector. There are approximately 12 million users of the Government Gateway spread across 125 online live services.
